Sammy Nasrollahi

Sammy has over 38 years of sales and marketing leadership, while owning and operating a number of other businesses. He has had many local and regional positions of leadership and is heavily involved in the community. Sammy is currently serving as president of the Uptown Greenwood Development Community in Greenwood, SC. Sammy was a professional soccer player with the Chicago Pampas FC when they won the NSL Championship and he was named a member of the 1984 Chicago All Star Team.

Ambrose L. Schwallie

Including his position as Chairman of the Board, Mr. Schwallie is also the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for SCRA, where he oversees the strategic direction and business development activities. His primary focus is to diversify the business mix of SCRA to better positions for future growth. Mr. Schwallie oversaw the transformation of the South Carolina Biotechnology Incubation Program, where he served as CEO, into the South Carolina Biotechnology Center (SC Bio) and through the recent merger with SCRA. The organization was chartered to develop the life sciences sector, from medical devices to bio-remediation, in the state of South Carolina.

Ricardo C. Carvalho

Ricardo Carvalho is Founder and President of Carvalho & Associates International, Inc. (CAI), an Atlanta-based development consultancy serving a wide range of U.S. and international clients. With well over 30 years of international business development and marketing, Ricardo has established himself as an economic ambassador by developing operations, partnerships, alliances, and mergers and acquisitions for a multitude of dynamic Fortune 500 companies. Prior to forming CAI, Ricardo was a key member of Coca-Cola’s leadership team directing the Company’s international marketing and development programs in Latin America. He played a major role in extending the Coca-Cola brand and their market leadership operations. Ricardo holds a law degree from the University of Vila Velha, in Brazil, as well as a Business Administration / International Business degree from Oglethorpe University, in Atlanta. He is a senior member of the prestigious �Strategic Coach’ Masters program for successful worldwide entrepreneurs and currently serves on the board of directors for a variety of health-related corporations and organizations. A triathlete, he has also been an adviser on committees for the Olympics.

Rowland Hanson

Rowland Hanson is CEO of The HMC Company and Chairman of CRH & Associates. He was Vice President of Corporate Communications at Microsoft, where he created and executed the company’s highly acclaimed branding strategy including the introduction of Microsoft’s graphical interface that he named “Windows.” Prior to Microsoft, he was Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Neutrogena Corporation, where it registered phenomenal growth through new product introductions and global partnering. His successful branding strategies at Neutrogena captured the attention of Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. Together, they convinced Mr. Hanson to leave Neutrogena and help them change the world by applying his branding strategies to the software industry. Mr. Hanson is now with the Microsoft Alumni Foundation, where he is responsible for strategic partnerships. The Foundation has been the catalyst for the formation of numerous non-profits around the world. He has a BBA from Loyola University and an MBA from Wharton School of Business (University of Pennsylvania) where he graduated on the Directors List of Distinction.

Leon Cosby III

Leon Cosby III is co-founder, Vice President, and COO of COSBY MEDIA PRODUCTIONS, INC. (CMP), an Atlanta, Georgia based media production company that specializes in producing family friendly content from books to television. Responsible for insuring CMP objectives are met, Leon provides oversight and direction to the department heads of Book and Music Publishing, Media Distribution, and TV and Film Production. Prior to establishing CMP, Leon spent twenty years focused on small business development in the non profit and entertainment industries providing support in areas of negotiation, contract review, strategic planning, marketing and brand development. Leon is an alum of the historic HBCU, Tuskegee University, where he studied marketing. He is the proud father of four children and lives in the greater Atlanta area.

Curtis Frye

Diabetes Advocate

Coach Curtis Frye has been the head coach for the University of South Carolina Track and Field teams for the past twenty years. Coach Frye served as an assistant coach for the United States women’s track and field team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and will be coaching the men’s sprinters and hurdlers for Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

His impressive record includes: 2008 Order of IKKOS medallion, US Men’s Head Coach at the 2001 Goodwill Games, Coached 25 Olympians (that have won 11 medals), Coached over 415 NCAA All-Americans

Curtis Frye and his wife Wilma started The Frye Foundation in 2011 (www.thefryefoundation.org).  A nonprofit organization, The Frye Foundation is dedicated to the assistance of persons and their families that deal with diabetes and mental illnesses, as well as other charitable causes.

Jamie Dukes

Jamie is a retired 10 year veteran of the National Football League and current NFL Network Analyst. A graduate of Florida State University, Jamie was a consensus All-American his senior year and inducted into the FSU Hall of Fame in 1991. He has since founded numerous programs including the Put Up Your Dukes Foundation whose mission is to shine the light on obesity with the assistance of professional athletes, entertainers, musicians and movie stars. Other projects include The Billion Pound Blitz, Chachersize and being a co-host of the Ask The Fat Doctors radio program. Jamie’s passion to provide healthier alternatives together with his foundation and programs will continue being a positive influence for both adults and children within the communities everywhere in our society.

Dr. Braxton A. Cosby

Dr. Braxton A. Cosby is a licensed Physical Therapist who works in the Geriatric population treating a plethora of disease processes affecting older adults. He received his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate from the University of Miami. He currently co-hosts the weekly radio show “Ask The Fat Doctors” with Tee Foxx and retired NFL player Jamie Dukes. Dr. Cosby is a certified weight trainer who uses his experience and clinical knowledge to help patients lose weight and meet their health and wellness goals. Braxton lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife and 3 children.

Carmen Johnson

Jim McCrossin

Jim McCrossin is the Head Athletic Trainer/Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Philadelphia Flyers. He is a graduate of West Chester University and is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He was recently certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. McCrossin is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American Academy of Sports Medicine. “I am proud to be a part of Hydro One Premium Beverages Company. I personally recommend these products to all of my Philadelphia Flyers players and to anyone who is looking for a healthy alternative.” I am also a strong advocate for diabetes education and research. Babak Baban, Ph.D., M.B.A., FAHA

Babak is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Oral Biology within the Medical College of Georgia. Prior to that position he was a research scientist in the Medical College of Georgia Cancer Center. Babak has a Ph.D. in Medical Bacteriology from the University of London, Postdoctoral Fellowship in Molecular Immunology from the Medical College of Georgia, and a Masters of Business Administration from Augusta State University. He is considered one of the leading international research scientists within the oral, molecular medicine and genetics and also cancer research.

Dr. Mark Fields, Ph.D., M.P.H.

Mark is co-founder and President of Research and Development. Dr. Fields is currently working in biotechnology in the area of degenerative diseases of the eye. He was an assistant professor of research at the Medical University of South Carolina in regenerative medicine. Mark earned his Ph.D. from the Medical College of Georgia in cellular biology where he focused on the use of novel therapeutics to treat degenerative diseases of the eye. He has also earned his Master’s in Public Health at Columbia University in New York where he focused on health policy and management. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University in New York. At Hydro One, Mark is responsible for research and development of novel and alternative products that address the nutritional needs of individuals with specific disease.

Dr. Luigi Boccuto, MD

Dr. Boccuto is a clinical geneticist, with several years of training in dysmorphology and developmental delay. In his career, he worked on many genetic conditions, with a focus on hereditary cancer, overgrowth syndromes and intellectual disability syndromes. He graduated in Medical School at the Universita` Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy, in 2002, then achieved a postdoc specialization in Medical Genetics at the Universita` Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy, in 2006. He received in 2003 the award “Gianmichele Laccetti”, for a thesis in genetic oncology. Dr. Boccuto is currently a staff scientist at the JC Self research Institute of the Greenwood Genetic Center. His activity is mainly focused on investigating the molecular and functional causes of autism and intellectual disability and analyzing the metabolic profile of different genetic conditions at the cellular level.

Dr. Thomas B. Stoddard, DMD

Dentist

Dr. Thomas B. Stoddard has owned a private practice of general dentistry for 31 years. He received a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Clemson University and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) degree from The Medical University of South Carolina. Dr Stoddard has been a staff member at Self Regional Hospital for 31 years. He has also been a dental consultant and practitioner for Connie Maxwell Children’s Home and National Health Care nursing home for many years as well. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and Past President of the Piedmont Dental Association of South Carolina.

Dr. Stoddard is also a health enthusiast who has completed numerous triathlons including a full iron man distance event in Wilmington, N.C.
